ARARAT Senior Citizens will have an unchanged committee for the next 12 months following the group’s Annual General Meeting last week.

Cr Gwenda Allgood chaired the meeting which saw the return of John Woods at President, Jan Murphy as Secretary and Lorna Davies as Treasurer.

Other members of the executive include John Joyce (Junior Vice President), Jim Murphy (Senior Vice Pres), Val Wilson (Caterer), Marion Claringbold (Hostess) and Pauline Borrelli (Committee member).

In his report, President John Woods thanked the committee and kitchen volunteers for their tireless work every week.

He also paid a special tribute to Ararat Lions Club for providing a barbeque lunch for members earlier this year.

In his report, Mr Woods said the Senior Citizens Hall was being put to good use by groups like Pinnacle, the Ararat Garden Club, Seniors Bowlers, the Rock N Roll Old Time Dance and as the COVID vaccination centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

“I would like to thank the members for their friendship and ongoing support throughout the past 12 months which has made my role as president most enjoyable,” Mr Woods said.
