ARARAT Rats netballers are looking towards the 2025 season with the recent reappointment of coach Sally Noble as the A Grade coach.
Noble played for the Rats in her younger years before spending eight years as a player at Sebastopol, including five years as player/coach.
She returned to the Rats at the start of 2024, and Netball Director Celine Bush said she’s made big inroads.
“We know we’re in a rebuilding phase improving our netball across the club and throughout the season we saw significant improvements in all grades which is really pleasing.
“We believe Sally is the key appointment for us to improve and strengthen our club even further. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience at a higher level of netball and we have great confidence that she’s got the ability to take us up the ladder.
Bush said Noble has huge respect for the players and they have huge respect for her.
“We’re all looking forward to working with her and continuing to learn from her. She’s a former A Grade premiership player and has strong connections with our club of which we are very proud.
“Sally is a natural leader, she has a lot of initiative in the way she leads. She has been extremely impressive, has a lot of respect for the girls and they respect her,” she said.
Bush said the club is always on the lookout for new netballers.
“We’d like to encourage anyone who would like to improve their netball and play in the Wimmera League to join us in our ongoing quest to tackle the top netball clubs Horsham Demons and Horsham Saints and to become competitive with these clubs,” she said.
