FOUR people have nominated for a spot on the Liberal Party upper house ticket for Western Victoria ahead of November\u2019s election.<\/p>\n
In a shock, the Liberal Party lost one of its seats in the five member upper house region in 2018, with the party keen to reclaim the position.<\/p>\n
The 2018 election delivered two Labor, on Liberal, one Derryn Hinch Justice Party and one Animal Justice Party member in the five member electorate.<\/p>\n
Joshua Morris was number two on the coalition ticket and was defeated in the state-wide swing against the Nationals, with Geelong based Bev McArthur the only Liberal to survive.<\/p>\n
The Liberal Party closed nominations earlier in the week, with four people vying for the two winnable spots.<\/p>\n
Sitting member Bev McArthur, former MP Joshua Morris, former Beaufort resident and Colac Otway Shire Councillor Joe McCracken and former electorate officer Andrew Lewis.<\/p>\n
Western Victoria runs from Melton to Geelong and through to the South Australian border and includes the Ararat Rural City and Pyrenees Shire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
