ACOUSTIC Blues master Lloyd Spiegel started out on a mammoth tour of Australian in 2019 to get people acquainted with the new tracks of his 10th album \u2018Cut and Run\u2019 but plans were put into disarray due to the COVID-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n
He was booked to entertain Ararat fans in May 2020, but now he\u2019s confirmed for a one off show for Ararat Live on Wednesday 20th July.<\/p>\n
This is a show not to be missed for those who love incredible guitar playing, great songs and the odd tall tale.<\/p>\n
Melbourne born, Lloyd first picked up the guitar at age four, played his first professional show at age ten and was touring the east coast of Australia at 12.\u00a0 By 16 he was on tour in the United States, cutting his teeth as a true travelling blues man.<\/p>\n
Lloyd\u2019s travels not only honed his craft, earned him a swag of awards, and gave him the opportunity to learn from and tour with the founding fathers of modern blues – it taught him the most important part of being a blues musician: connecting with everyday people.<\/p>\n
Blues lovers in Ararat were first introduced to Lloyd as a young emerging talent back in the early 2000\u2019s when he would perform regularly at what was then BJ\u2019s (Court House Hotel).<\/p>\n
When Ararat Live first formed in 2010, Lloyd was one of the first names suggested to book.\u00a0 He has played four times for Ararat Live, the last being October 2014.<\/p>\n
Lloyd has spent 30 years touring extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan, viewing himself as a social worker more than anything else – someone to help people forget about their worries for a few hours and put a smile on their face.<\/p>\n
The 14-time Australian Blues Award Winner has one of the most interesting stories in music.\u00a0 Lloyd\u2019s guitar wizardry, powerful lyrics and knack for humorous story telling delivers a truly unique performance that reinvents the genre and dispels the cliches associated with the Blues.<\/p>\n
