After many years without a regular doctor, the Lake Bolac Bush Nursing Centre welcomed Dr \u00a0Pushparani Ravindranayagam to their team of health professionals yesterday.<\/p>\n
Dr Pushpa works from the Beaufort Medical Practice and will run a clinic each Thursday at Lake Bolac.<\/p>\n
Lake Bolac Bush Nursing Centre CEO, Jan Milliken, was excited to announce the appointment.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been a long process and years of negotiations to obtain a doctor for our district,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe asked many regional health services for support and we are finally happy with the solution.<\/p>\n
\u201cDr Pushpa comes highly recommended and we look forward to working with her,\u201d Ms Milliken said.<\/p>\n
Dr Pushpa completed her medical Degree in 1992 and migrated to Australia from New Zealand in 2001.<\/p>\n
She previously worked\u00a0 at\u00a0 the Alfred, Box Hill, Maroondah, William Angliss and Mildura Hospitals. She completed her general practice training in\u00a0 Australia and has been a GP since 2004 and is a Fellow of\u00a0the Royal Australian College of General Practice.<\/p>\n
Presently a principal and GP\u00a0for the Beaufort Family Practice, she has been working in the Beaufort Skipton Health Service\u00a0since 2009.<\/p>\n
She is an RACGP college examiner and QA examiner for the RACGP for\u00a0the past eight years.<\/p>\n
Dr Pushpa has a special interest in training and education of medical students and makes a significant contribution to GP and GP registrar training.<\/p>\n
Her other interests include rural medicine and emergency medicine, women\u2019s health, mental health, paediatrics, preventive medicine and skin check and removals.<\/p>\n
