TATYOON will have more teams playing off for a premiership than not this weekend.<\/p>\n
Five of the club\u2019s nine teams, across both sports, have their sights set on overflowing Tatyoon\u2019s cabinet with silverware come Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Both A and B Grade netball sides will face Ararat Eagles in premiership deciders, with the A-Grade team looking to win its first premiership since 1999.<\/p>\n
Both grades stood above the rest with undefeated seasons in their respective home-and-away campaigns \u2013 continuing on from a successful, albeit interrupted, 2021 season.<\/p>\n
The A-Grade side will be hoping to end a 23-year premiership this weekend and cap off a historic season, which saw the Hawks net over 900 goals.<\/p>\n
Unlike the A and B Grade teams which both finished as minor premiers, Tatyoon\u2019s C Grade side took the longer road to the Grand Final.<\/p>\n
After going down by five goals to this week\u2019s opponent, Penhurst, in the Qualifying Final, the C-Grade Hawks recorded a thrilling one goal preliminary final win over Glenthompson Dunkeld last week to complete the club\u2019s senior netball Grand Final trifecta.<\/p>\n
Likewise, both senior football teams are eyeing premiership glory of their own.<\/p>\n
After \u201cstruggling for players\u201d over the last few years, Tatyoon\u2019s reserves team finds itself stacked with talented players \u2013 many of whom will be unlucky not to play in the seniors this weekend.<\/p>\n
Craig Wells\u2019 reserves side finished atop the Mininera ladder and cruised into the Grand Final after defeating Glenthompson Dunkeld by 92 points in the Semi Final.<\/p>\n
While the two sides are set to go at it again, Wells expects a much tighter contest this time around.<\/p>\n
\u201cGlenthompson use the ball well on a dry deck, so we need to be on them and apply pressure around the ball and be first to it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou want to win it around the contest. Generally, if you win the clearances around the ground it will go a long way towards winning the game.\u201d<\/p>\n
A win this weekend will cap off a memorable season for the reserves, which has seen club legend Tim Barr celebrate 450 games and Joe Thompson awarded the Mininera\u2019s reserves league best-and-fairest.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe haven\u2019t had the chance to reflect too much yet, I imagine we\u2019ll be doing that after Saturday,\u201d Wells said.<\/p>\n
