TANIA Dignan had a day out on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
She won the A-grade stroke event with a very respectable 86 off the stick, picked up Nearest the Pin awards on both the sixth and eighth holes, before taking out the September Brooch with the best handicapped score of the day.<\/p>\n
It was a first time brooch win for Dignan whose current handicap is 12, giving her a score for the round of 86 -12 -74.<\/p>\n
The B-grade stroke saw evergreen Joy Cronin victorious with 102 strokes.\u00a0 She took the event in a three way count back after Sandra Brady and Chris Hurstfield also posted 102.\u00a0 Ceal Gubbins showed the rest of the C-grade field a pair of clean heels, taking a win with 118 strokes.\u00a0 Other winners of NTP awards were Sandra Brady and Marg Lardner.<\/p>\n
The nine-hole stableford competition was won by Kimbra Christie, comfortably ahead of the rest of the field.<\/p>\n
Monday\u2019s stableford saw scores closer to expected results.\u00a0 After being heavy underfoot for a couple of months, the course is drying out and the ladies are enjoying more run on the fairways.\u00a0 Barb Mannix came out on top with her 18 stableford points, two clear of Chris Hurstfield.<\/p>\n
Shirley Hetherington returned to the winners\u2019s circle on Saturday with a pleasing 31 stableford points.\u00a0 She has not been able to play much golf of late because of increased work commitments.\u00a0 Cathy Jennings finished just one point behind.<\/p>\n
Next week sees the much anticipated Captain\u2019s team versus President\u2019s team showdown.\u00a0 A stableford event, both Captain Sharon Powell and President Marg Brehaut are out to claim bragging rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
