LEADING by just the eight points at three-quarter-time in last Saturday\u2019s Grand Final, Bhun Joiner\u2019s message was a simple one.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told them we were not going to leave the ground with any regrets and just to give everything we had for the last 25 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was a team-talk from the Ararat Eagles co-coach which sparked an eight goal to two final term and nailed the coffin on a historic inaugural senior football premiership for the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were confident from the start of the game if we stayed close for two-and-a-half-to-three quarters we always believed we\u2019d be able to overrun them in the end,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was trying to [enjoy it] but at the same time, you never know what\u2019s going to happen so I was making sure everyone was grounded as well. It just all came out when the siren went and that\u2019s when I took it all in. The players worked hard for it and they deserved it, every bit of it.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s hard to put into words what this means because a lot of people at the club have gone through some tough times and to break through with a premiership and to have the netballers playing finals as well, it\u2019s a credit to the club and the people who run the place.\u201d<\/p>\n
The celebrations continued into the next few days, with the Eagles celebrating a Mad Monday for the first time as senior football premiers.<\/p>\n
