FROM the 1st<\/sup> of October 2022, tens of thousands of Probus members across Australia will be celebrating Probus Day<\/em>. The month also acknowledges the United Nations\u2019 Day of Older Persons, highlighting the important contributions that older people make to society.<\/p>\n In the case of the Probus Club of Ararat our celebrations start on the 13th<\/sup> of October, with a special morning tea. Morning tea guests include club foundation member Athol Graham, and guest speaker Ararat Advocate publisher Craig Wilson.<\/p>\n Then just a week later on the 20th<\/sup> continuing the theme, the club will enjoy a special Christians Coach tour to the Rupanyup Historical Museum, and the Murtoa Stick Shed.<\/p>\n The Probus Club of Ararat\u00a0 provides an opportunity for retired and semi-retired people to keep active mentally and physically, as well as enjoying social interaction with fellow Probians.\u00a0 We are a club of over 70 men and women and welcome enquiries from those interested in joining us.<\/p>\n For those interested, the club meets monthly with activities including interesting guest speakers, outings, trips and walks.<\/p>\n For over 46 years, Probus has been providing fun and friendship to retirees, and those members who discovered Probus in retirement have never looked back.<\/p>\n Australia wide the theme for the October Probus Day \/ Month is \u201cProbus provides unlimited possibilities in Retirement\u201d with the colours of the round Probus logo being blue and yellow\/gold, which are used to represent the sun, sky and water of the world.<\/p>\n Probus Ararat encourages people who are retired or semi-retired to reach out to the Probus Club to find out more about how Probus can enrich their retirement.<\/p>\n
