THERE\u2019S a new addition at the Ararat Medical Centre with the arrival of Dr Azaz Ul Haq.<\/p>\n
Dr Haq has arrived from Pakistan and is very enthusiastic about starting consulting with patients at the Ararat Medical Centre.<\/p>\n
\u201cI first made contact with the Practice Manager, Garry Hurst back in August, 2023. It has been a long process to arrange VISA\u2019s, Medical Board Registration and Medicare Provider numbers so I can start working here,\u201d said Dr Haq.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am keen to make Ararat my home and have my family arrive in February.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dr Haq has made the difficult decision to leave his family, wife and three daughters in Pakistan while he gets settled into life in Ararat.<\/p>\n
Partner at the Ararat Medical Centre, Dr Faraz Ahmad is also from Pakistan, but now keenly says he is an \u201cAussie\u201d and pleased to be able to assist Dr Haq in his orientation to life in Australia and particularly rural life in Ararat.<\/p>\n
Dr Haq has had some interesting experiences before coming to Australia including working with National Geographic documentaries including \u201cRogue Trip\u201d.<\/p>\n
He has worked in major hospitals in Pakistan, including in Lahore and for medical companies providing home care to patients and their families.<\/p>\n
Dr Haq when not working enjoys travelling and getting to know new places.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe currently have appointments available with Dr Haq and patients can make bookings through our reception team by phoning 5352 2311,\u201d Practice Manager Garry Hurst said.<\/p>\n
Dr Ahmad said an extra doctor at the clinic will help ensure appointments can be met.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith Dr Haq\u2019s arrival our GP numbers are currently at 13 and we hope to maintain the level of appointments we offer our patients well into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are currently working with other GP\u2019s to also come to Ararat and start work in 2025. The process is long but worth it to bring more doctors and appointments to the Ararat community,\u201d Dr Ahmad said.<\/p>\n
In addition to Dr Haq\u2019s appointment, the Ararat Medical Centre recently welcomed back Dr Haseeb Rayhan who previously was at the centre as a GP Intern and then a GP Registrar.<\/p>\n
Returning to the Ararat Medical Centre for two days a week, Dr Rayhan will be working on Monday and Thursdays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
