A great night out in Willaura was the recent Murder Mystery Dinner at \u2018Wild Will\u2019s Saloon\u2019. The event was hosted by the Willaura & District Community Development Group, in partnership with Ararat Town Hall, and sponsorship was provided by Community Bank Willaura\/Lake Bolac. A delicious meal was prepared by excellent local caterer, Paul Symons, and the Willaura Hall Committee volunteers ran the bar.<\/p>\n
Over one hundred people dressed themselves up as characters straight out of the wild west, and there were saloon girls, cowboys, and sheriffs galore.<\/p>\n
A professional \u2018detective\u2019 kept the crowd entertained as he questioned dozens of suspects and witnesses, all of whom had seen or done something connected to the dreadful murder of saloon girl, \u2018Candy-Lee Lane\u2019.<\/p>\n
There was much hilarity as the volunteer characters forgot and then made up their lines, struggled to read without their glasses, and generally played up to an audience who could barely contain their laughter.<\/p>\n
At the end of the night all was revealed, but not after general mayhem and a gun fight or two. Who knew that genteel Thursday Weeks, the seamstress, would in fact turn out to be \u201cMr Big\u201d!<\/p>\n
Development Group organising sub-committee member, Jo Byron, thanked all involved in the night, especially those who dressed up, and the attendees who happily took on acting roles and provided so much fun for the audience.<\/p>\n
She also noted the volunteers from the Willaura Hall Committee and thanked the Willaura & District Community Development Group members who had put so much effort into decorations, setting up, and completing the myriad of tasks needed to ensure a great night was had by all.<\/p>\n
