ARARAT RSL recently gave the Moyston Easter Market a boost with funding for a new PA system.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve provided funds all year for different organisations,\u201d said RSL President Frank Neulist, noting that donations to date have reached $92,885.<\/p>\n
Additional funding has also gone toward RSL Active, small events, and school sponsorships.<\/p>\n
Kirti Mills and Charlene Darker accepted the grant on behalf of the Moyston Progress Association which operates the Moyston Easter Market.<\/p>\n
Kirti said the funds were really needed to purchase a new PA system.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe market is getting bigger. It started with fewer than 500 visitors, and last year it was 2,000 people.\u201d<\/p>\n
The new PA system will enhance future market events and support various community gatherings.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause we have a few competitions, raffles, long kick and pumpkin competition, some of the feedback we got was people couldn’t hear who won,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a sign the market is expanding, and it (the new PA system) would be really helpful, because our community is growing and we\u2019d like to have more community functions, more fundraising, trivia nights and you know whatever else we can conceive,\u201d said Kirti.<\/p>\n
