{"id":303,"date":"2021-11-22T10:02:45","date_gmt":"2021-11-21T23:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theadvocate.net.au\/?p=303"},"modified":"2021-11-22T12:43:55","modified_gmt":"2021-11-22T01:43:55","slug":"life-membership-for-scotney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theadvocate.net.au\/2021\/11\/22\/life-membership-for-scotney\/","title":{"rendered":"Life Membership for Scotney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARARAT\u2019s Postal Manager has been given a top honour from Victoria\u2019s most famous athletics club.<\/p>\n<p>Scotney Hayter has been made a Life Member of Stawell Athletics Club following 20 years of service.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Hayter, who is currently club secretary, said it has been a pleasure to be a part of the Stawell Athletics Club and the annual Stawell Gift.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been on the committee for 20 years and on the executive for 14. I\u2019ve served as the Junior Vice President, Senior Vice President and as Presidents in 2012-13 and I\u2019ve been Secretary for the past nine years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Hayter becomes the club\u2019s 89<sup>th<\/sup> life member since 1888.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a privilege to serve on the committee and it is an absolute honour to be awarded life membership,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing in the club so long it gets into your blood, the Stawell Gift is one of those events where you can travel anywhere in the world and mention the Stawell Gift and someone has heard of it.
