The East Grampians Health Service Board is delighted to announce Nick Bush as Chief
\nExecutive, effective from 17 January, 2022.
\nEGHS Board Chair Nancy Panter said Mr Bush was chosen after an extensive and extremely
\ncompetitive selection process.
\n\u201cThe number of highly experienced and motivated candidates applying for the position of
\nEGHS Chief Executive, is not only an indication of their abilities and commitment to deliver
\nquality services, but also recognition that East Grampian Health Service is a benchmark
\nleader, delivering comprehensive health services in regional Victoria,\u201d she said.
\n\u201cMr. Bush is an accomplished Chief Executive with more than 20 years\u2019 experience leading
\noutstanding health services.\u201d
\n\u201cHe has demonstrated in previous roles his ability to lead high performing health services
\nthrough his dedication to rural healthcare, innovation, developing partnerships, continuous
\nimprovement of patient care and a focus on workplace culture.\u201d
\n\u201cMost recently Mr Bush was Chief Executive Officer at Echuca Regional Health where he
\nsuccessfully led the organisation to build its medical workforce through increasing education
\nand training by leading the Rural Generalist training for the Loddon Mallee Region,
\ndeveloped new partnerships with neighbouring health services and led the development of
\nan $8.3 million Cancer and Wellness Centre.\u201d
\n\u201cHe also served as Chief Executive at East Grampians Health Service from 2010 \u2013 2018.
\nDuring this time the organisation was recognised as a leader in the Victorian health sector
\nbeing awarded the Victorian Premier\u2019s Health Service of the Year in 2015 and 2016 for a
\nmedium health service,\u201d Ms Panter said.
\n\u201cThis appointment marks an exciting new chapter for EGHS and the Board is looking forward
\nto working with Mr. Bush to ensure East Grampians Health Service continues to deliver high
\nquality safe health services to our community,\u201d Ms Panter said.
\nCommenting on the appointment, Mr Bush said he was excited to return to Ararat to take
\non the role.
\n\u201cI\u2019m very pleased to return to East Grampians Health Service, a very progressive health
\nservice with an outstanding board, visiting medical officers and staff. The health service has
\na very positive future and I\u2019m delighted to be appointed again as the Chief Executive,\u201d he
\nsaid.
\n\u201cI look forward to working with the Board on its next strategic plan to ensure EGHS
\ncontinues to deliver high quality health services for the community. It\u2019s an exciting time with
\nupgraded infrastructure, a great team in place and new opportunities with the changing
\nhealth landscape.\u201d
\n\u201cOn a personal note, it will be very pleasing to catch up with the board, staff, visiting
\nmedical officers and volunteers who are very dedicated and committed to their
\ncommunity.\u201d
\n\u201cLiving in Ararat is very attractive to me. My wife is from Willaura, I grew up in the
\nWimmera at Dimboola and we have a lot of friends and family in the local area.\u201d
\nMr Bush takes over the position from Andrew Freeman who led East Grampians Health
\nService from July 2018 to August 2021.
\nHis appointment has been approved by the Department of Health.
\nThe Board would like to acknowledge and thank Mr Peter Armstrong for acting in the Chief
