{"id":398,"date":"2021-12-05T13:05:12","date_gmt":"2021-12-05T02:05:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theadvocate.net.au\/?p=398"},"modified":"2021-12-07T10:17:37","modified_gmt":"2021-12-06T23:17:37","slug":"lighting-up-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theadvocate.net.au\/2021\/12\/05\/lighting-up-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"Lighting up Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARARAT Rotary Club and the Ararat Advocate are again searching for the districts best Christmas lights display.<\/p>\n<p>From next week, the Ararat Advocate will publish a map each week showing where people can go to see displays of Christmas lights in Ararat and surrounding towns.<\/p>\n<p>Households and businesses are urged to register their premises, with cash prizes for the winners of a number of different categories including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best display<\/li>\n<li>Best display by children<\/li>\n<li>Best commercial display<\/li>\n<li>Best Australian theme<\/li>\n<li>Best farm display<\/li>\n<li>People\u2019s choice award<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Home and business owners wanting to participate and be included on the map need to contact the Ararat Advocate at <a href=\"mailto:editor@theadvocate.net.au\">editor@theadvocate.net.au<\/a> or by sending through information to us at 93a Barkly Street Ararat 3377.<\/p>\n<p>Rotary members will judge displays of Christmas lights before Christmas and winners will be published in the Ararat Advocate.<\/p>\n<p>A form will appear in next week\u2019s Ararat Advocate allowing people to nominate their preferred display for the People\u2019s Choice award.
