GRAMPIANS Tourism has recently appointed a new chairman to lead the organisation though the post-pandemic period.<\/p>\n
The Ararat Advocate understands former Victorian Farmers Federation President David Jochinke was elected at a recent meeting of stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Mr Jochinke is currently the Vice President of the National Farmers Federation and is involved with a tourism business at Dimboola.<\/p>\n
He will replace former Ararat Mayor Paul Hooper, who has chaired the organisation for several years.<\/p>\n
Grampians Tourism was established in 2009 and is the peak industry body for tourism in the Grampians region. It encompasses and is directly supported by Ararat Rural City, Horsham Rural City, Northern Grampians Shire, Southern Grampians Shire.<\/p>\n
Mr Jochinke is well regarded across the region and his appointment is likely to be welcomed by the local tourism industry.<\/p>\n
