RSL keen for ships artifacts

HMAS Ararat sails off the coast off Darwin during their Mission Readiness Evaluation. *** Local Caption *** HMAS Ararat is one of the Royal Australian Navy’s patrol boat fleet based in northern Australia. The fleet operates 365 days a year to defend against potential civil maritime threats, including illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing, narcotics trafficking and irregular maritime arrivals. In order to provide this continuous capability, the 15 ships and their crews train regularly to ensure they carry out all tasks smoothly, meeting Navy’s mission “to fight and win at sea.”

ARARAT RSL has confirmed it is keen to secure the ships bell and other memorabilia from HMAS Ararat when the ship is decommissioned.
