Teli Kaur is a candidate for this year’s Ararat Rural City Council election.
Here’s her pitch.
I am Teli Kaur, a dedicated community leader and candidate for the upcoming Ararat council elections.
Having lived in Ararat for the past 13 years, I am passionate about the town’s growth and the well-being of its residents. I bring a wealth of experience to the table, drawing from my extensive background in community service and management. My candidacy is endorsed by Peter Beales, Bob Sanders, Jo Armstrong, and Bill Waterson, who recognise the great values I bring to the community.
Currently, I serve as the manager at Ararat Neighbourhood House, where I have been instrumental in driving numerous community programs aimed at enhancing social inclusion, supporting vulnerable groups, and fostering skill development.
Buy the The Ararat Advocate print edition, which has full coverage of all the region’s news and sport.
Prior to this role, I worked for 11 years at Ararat RSL, developing a strong connection with veterans and the broader community.
Since taking up my managerial role at the Neighbourhood House in 2022, I have focused on creating a welcoming space where people from all walks of life can access resources, training, and social support.
I am also about to complete my Bachelor of Business, adding to my practical experience with formal knowledge in management, finance, and leadership.
This education, combined with my grassroots involvement, makes me a well-rounded candidate who understands both the practical needs of the community and the importance of sound governance.
As a mother of two, I am deeply invested in the future of Ararat.
My campaign focuses on ensuring that the community’s voice is heard, supporting local businesses with increased grant options and incentives, advocating for mental health programs, and organising community events for Ararat’s diverse population.
With my leadership skills, local knowledge, and commitment to community development, I am ready to represent the people of Ararat and make a positive difference in the council.
Please Vote 1 for KAUR Teli.
